Privacy louvres
The image on the right shows the structure we were able to build underneath the new pergola to offer a client extra privacy. The spotted gum decking boards were installed at an angle and in conjunction with the pergola above to give this homeowner a spot for private gatherings.
Polycarbonate or steel roof sheeting: Which one is right for you?
At MJ Leckie Carpentry, we consider a few key things when determining which roof sheeting is right for your patio. While polycarbonate allows natural light to pass through, it is prone to hail damage, cannot hold weight for you to walk on it, doesn’t allow for flashing on the edges, and get dirty easily – making it difficult to clean. On the other hand, steel sheeting is a heavier material that can hold weight and allows for flashing on the edges, but it doesn’t allow light to pass through and can be more robust and more expensive than polycarbonate. Before we begin building, our experienced professional builders will take everything into mind when determining materials for your patio, including your roof sheeting.
